Marc Murphy's midtown Landmarc is gigantic, a massive and dimly-lit 300 seat space just steps beyond Bouchon Bakery's glittering dessert display cases on the 3rd floor of the Time Warner Center. It feels a little impersonal (a bit like an upscale and sparkly factory, with black walls and a long, darkly painted bar) but, particularly at night, the views of Lincoln Center out of the metal-framed windows that wrap around the entire restaurant are undeniable.
The menu is extensive, and everything I tasted was good. The chopped salad, with beets, hearts of palm and a sweet balsamic vinaigrette, was light and full of flavor, and the sauteed shrimp, tossed with white white, olive oil, and marinated artichokes, were delicious. Nothing remarkable, but perfect for pre- or post-theater or shopping.
Bottom line: come for the views, and the convenience.
